Seed Drills & Cultivators

Here we see a range of various seed drills and cultivators.  The seed drill with the blue seed box and red wheel in the centre foreground is a Planet Junior Drill,  these were used for sowing row crops.  Other implements include Planet weeders, hand and horse drawn scarifiers and banking hoes.

The museum contains many verities of such equipment.  Given that many of these tools were used one row at a time, it is not surprising that farmers and farm workers of the day seemed leaner and fitter that many of those of today.
